Are you interested in exploring the intersection between science and spirituality?

Join us for an unforgettable week at Chateau du Fey

DELTA is a unique opportunity for participants to explore the intersection between these two fields, by exchanging ideas with some of the world's leading experts in the field of science and spirituality, while enjoying the company of like-minded individuals eager to explore these new frontiers. Participants will become part of an interdisciplinary community  of researchers in the fields of science and spirituality, and will acquire a greater understanding of how these two domains can inform and enrich one another.

Science and spirituality are often regarded as antagonistic with one another. However, a meaningful exploration of this apparent dichotomy can reveal a series of commonalities between them. Scientific methods emphasize empiricism and objectivity, i.e. the use of empirical observations and experiments in order to uncover facts about the world around us. Meanwhile, spirituality focuses more on individual experience and subjectivity, seeking meaning beyond our current understanding of observable reality. The former allows us to measure external forces and provides insights into material objects. The latter enables us to develop internal insights about ourselves and the world, expanding our inquiries beyond mere observation. As such, spiritual practices provide access towards realms which remain invisible to today’s scientific practices.

Despite the difference in perspectives, both are motivated by the same intrinsic desire of gaining a better understanding of the world, albeit through different means. Both science and spiritually attempt to elaborate a theory, a narrative, or an approximation of the “ultimate truth” which informs the life of all earthly beings —whether we refer to physical, psychological, or spiritual life.

When embraced together, each perspective offers tremendous potential for truth-seeking and self-discovery. Allowing direct interaction between scientific knowledge (exclusively based on tangible and reproducible data) and inner experiences (which may sometimes appear to be transcending logic) can offer new insights about reality, helping us deconstruct some of the scientific axioms that are too narrow to explain the wide variety of known and unknown unknowns.

DELTA is an invite-only workshop with a carefully selected group of participants working at the intersection of science and spirituality. The workshop will be held at the Chateau du Fey over a one week period (from Jan 6 - 12, 2025).

Participants will get to know each other over a series of workshops and in-depth discussions exploring the boundaries between science and spirituality. This will be an opportunity to learn more about oneself, others and the world surrounding us. However, recognizing that attendees may have other work commitments, we've designed the schedule to allow for a balanced involvement. We ask participants to commit a few hours each day, typically in the evening, to engage in the various workshops, discussions, and collaborative activities.

The workshop will be carried out in an extitutional format, emphasizing the idea that there is no predetermined nor official program. The structure of the workshop will emerge organically from the collective interactions and shared learning experiences of the participants. Participants are thus encouraged to contribute actively to the co-creation of the program, making it a dynamic and adaptive experience based on the specific interests and needs of the community.

In addition to the shared exploration, we will collectively identify one or more deliverables that we would like to produce during the week. Ideally, this would be a collaborative effort, resulting in a tangible output that encapsulates personal reflections and experiences, or a synthesis of the insights developed during the workshop.

In particular, we aim to go beyond the traditional boundaries of science and spirituality by fostering a community dedicated to developing a common language. The need for a common language arises from the understanding that some aspects of our reality transcend the limitations of singular perspectives. We aim to cultivate a shared lexicon that respects the diversity of perspectives within the community. By creating a shared conceptual framework, participants can articulate and discuss experiences, insights, and phenomena that lie in the overlapping spaces between science and spirituality. In other words, this shared linguistic framework is intended to facilitate effective communication about phenomena that do not exclusively fit into either the realm of science or spirituality but rather reside at their intersection. This effort recognizes that certain concepts, experiences, and truths may be best expressed by drawing from both scientific and spiritual perspective. We believe that this shared linguistic framework will facilitate effective communication, enabling participants to bridge the gap between these seemingly disparate fields by encouraging a more holistic and integrated understanding of the world.

This not only enhances communication during the workshop but also lays the foundation for an enduring dialogue beyond DELTA, fostering a network of individuals who can collectively contribute to the development of this common language. The ultimate value of DELTA lies not just in the knowledge gained during the week but also in the formation of an extitutional community. This community is poised to extend beyond the workshop, fostering continued discussions, collaborations, and exploration of the intersections between science and spirituality.
