Workshop on organizational practices for collective intelligence

The goal of this workshop is to theorize how formal and informal aspects of organizations can be designed to foster collective intelligence. We will bring together a small group of scientists, artists, entrepreneurs, activists and engineers to consider the organizational forms that dominate the landscape today, how the future may unfold and how we can shape it.

This 2 day workshop will be taking place at Fey, Burgundy, on 1st and 2nd December. During the 2 days, participants will organize into round tables punctuated by keynote presentations on these general topics:

  1. What are organizations? How do they emerge? What about them is formal and informal?

  2. Interplay between formal and informal organization: How does one affect the other? How do they jointly affect collective performance?

  3. Shifts in contemporary organization: How is this interplay evolving today? What about is intrinsic and what is controllable, open to change?

  4. Conclusion and discussion: how to design future organizations?

The setting will invite participants to harness their own collective intelligence, to reflect on our current situation and consider opportunities for action in research and practice.

The workshop cost will be 300 euros per participant, including 2 nights lodging on 1st and 2nd December, 5 meals (2 dinners, 1 lunch, and 2 breakfasts), and the registration cost.
